Mid-Level Systems Engineer
Description

A systems engineer serves as a technical lead across multiple engineering disciplines to design, develop, and integrate hardware, software, man-machine interfaces and all system level requirements to provide an integrated system solution. The mid-level systems engineer possesses and applies expertise on multiple complex work assignments. Assignments may be broad in nature, requiring originality and innovation in determining how to accomplish tasks.

Responsibilities
  • Establishes goals and plans that meet project technical objectives
  • Directs and controls activities for a client or within the business
  • Operates with appreciable latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions to problems
  • Contributes to deliverables and performance metrics where applicable
  • Expected to work independently or under some supervision
  • Interactions involve working with senior system engineers and supporting technical discussions with clients and senior management
  • Supports the development of integrated system test, verification, and validation requirements and strategies
  • Supports system-level requirements decomposition, management, analysis
  • Supports system-level design, implementation, integration, testing, and operations
  • Performs and supports system-level trades and analysis activities including modeling and simulation to predict expected system performance
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in aerospace or relevant field
  • At least 7 years of direct aerospace experience
  • Has domain and expert technical or other relevant knowledge
  • Experience in a variety of engineering disciplines
  • Can work independently and as part of a team of his/her peers
  • Has performed analysis of designs against industry environment and test standards (e.g., NASA GEVS)
  • Comfortable presenting to diverse audiences including technical and non-technical experts and peers
Preferred Experience

The ideal candidate should have the following experience:

  • Directly working on one (1) or more spacecraft programs performing system design and/or testing
  • In-depth experience in at least one (1) spacecraft subsystem
